The Reason internet must be limited for children

           The progress of the era that continues to grow causes anyone to access the internet easily. The current technology has a positive and negative impact, especially for students. The positive impact of using internet access when learning is to make it easier for students to look for learning material, while the negative impact is plagiarism, misuse for negative things such as access to porn sites, and sites that are violent.The association of organizing internet services in Indonesia in 2009 stated that internet users in Indonesia increased by 700 percent and the biggest users of the internet were teenagers. The research conducted by Aryn Karpinski proved that students' motivation and learning achievement decreased due to opening up internet sites.Negative impacts and efforts to maintain learning achievement are the reasons why Internet access for students must be limited. The assumption that internet access for students must be limited causes a pro contra among the public and schools.

            I say that as student and person who care about the environment, we should share our opinions on this issue. I belong to a group that supports so that internet access for students must be limited. In my opinion students are young people who have curiosity in everything. They try to find out new things from various sources that can be accessed. Young age causes them to not be able to determine what sites are better reached or not reachable. Unstable conditions make them unable to consider it. Therefore teachers must supervise their students' internet usage during the learning process, so that students only access the right internet site, and parents can also help conduct supervision when their children are at home. Giving the right direction about the limitations of accessing the internet site to students will make them understand about the limitations of using the internet, about which ones can be reached and which ones should be avoided. In conclusion, the use of the internet for students is indeed not wrong, only to be limited so that students can be wiser in choosing content that is feasible to reach.
